Can anyone confirm that spring practice starts this Friday? I heard this over the weekend, but haven't seen anything about it anywhere. I know we're all basking in the spotlight of the success of Racer basketball, but by golly it's football time too. Pretty exciting time under the new Hatcher Crew.

If memory serves you can only have 16-17 "practices "during spring. I dont think OTAs/workouts/conditioning count toward that number. So if the game is 4-15 ,thats 3-4 practices and/or a inter squad scrimmage weekly over the next 4 weeks, starting monday 3-15. Sounds about right ???

Actually that will be over about 3.5 weeks when you figure in spring break at MSU. Sounds about perfect. Let the pigskins fill the air in Stewart Stadium! Go Racers!

Anybody wish to take a guess on which 6-Practices will have the smallest group of spectators in attendance? Maybe short some players too.

Hatcher likes to hold practice early in the morning. At Georgia Southern the administration made Hatcher hold them in the afternoon. Hatcher likes to hold practice early in the morning so that he knows his players are already up and ready to go to classes after the practice is over. It is hard to miss classes if you are allready up out of bed. Also with practices so early players are not out late the night before.

Plus, it prepares them for life in the real world, where watching the sun come up is the norm.

That makes sense about players being up for class, but that can be accomplished by a simple check-in at the office or cafeteria. It seems it's a growing trend across the country to hold early AM practices. But, the body also gets conditioned to a time schedule for performance. I'm not sure of the last time we played a game that had a 6 AM kickoff. I hope we'll have a big crowd at the spring practices. Go Racers!

You missed the point I was trying to make. I was talking about how many fans would be at practice at 5:20a.m. I know Hatch very well and I know how he likes to practice. I have been with him on the sidelines 121 times every game he has been a head coach. The part about short on players was that from time to time they over sleep but after running steps and gases for some reason it does'nt happen anymore.

I know when I was manager I had to make a couple trips to the dorms to get players out of bed.

I cant wait to see the Hatch Attack on the field next year.
