A Taste of paternal pride

Postby cowboyracer43 » Fri Apr 30, 2010 8:28 am

Katie called home the other night saying that she just can't wait until fall. The girls went to Minneapolis and played in a "fun tournament" featuring 8 or 10 college teams -- and went undefeated. Katie said that all of the girls have been working hard and are determined to improve. No more losses to Black Hills State or Minot State. I am looking for a Dakota State "Dad" shirt with which to adorn my old shoulders next fall.

After four years of being a high school setter, Katie has walked on and has become "the libero" on her team. She has earned a scholarship and is looked to by coaches and teammates as something of a leader. The cowgirl and I are popping buttons.
Some people are like slinkies -- They are good for nothing but they bring a smile to my face when they are pushed down the stairs.
